Metro-North Train Time App Reviews

Update broke the app

All it does now is show a "failed to refresh" message.

Handy app

Straightforward, fast and efficient app - big evolution over CooCoo. For people whining about specific flaws and needs, you probably need a butler or valet to help manage your life; this app finds your trains scheduled departure, arrival, track no. from GCT, and notifications if there is a delay--boom, thats it. Mission accomplished.

Easy and quick

I use this app everyday. Late trains are accurately noted etc. Favorite feature not so great

Good but could easily be great

Please add support for Watch.

Ugh

Way worse than previous version, now it only works when you have an Internet connection, duh!....very useful when you have no service at Grand Central. Missing the countdown feature too

Almost useless

I hate knowing our jacked up train fairs likely helped pay for this junk. Back to OnTime.

Train time not really as good as On Time

This app requires you to click your home commute pair and then shows the trains. On time shows your train time without the extra clicking as well as how man minutes until your train comes. On time also knows by the time of day to reverse your favorite commute. This app is not nearly as good

It works great

I take the Danbury Line everyday for work and it works great for me, almost instant updates on track changes and traintimes

Ideal

Simple and effective.

Good app

This app help me out so much on my first time taking a train Is easy to use and tells me exactly what I want to know when I need it

Terrible app

I downloaded this when hop stop was eliminated. Its terrible. Unless youre on wifi or have a full cell signal it does nothing. When it does work it will show you what stops are between your starting and ending points but not the times for those stops. Terrible. Just terrible.

iPhone 6 app scale

The app should have its size correct for the iPhone 6

BRING BACK GRAND CENTRAL APP

Always used Grand Central app and was very unhappy I needed to download this because Grand Central app is no longer supported. Hard to navigate, ugly, and does not tell you next train time or track on main screen. Overall very dissatisfied.

No train names

This app only provides the time each train arrives, but doesnt indicate final destination. So when a different train shows up during your scheduled time slot, you cant tell if its local or express. Im writing this as Im in an uber being driven to my correct station. I usually use itrans, but seems like the mta keeps shutting that down.

Could do more

The find trips and fares function should tap gps to default to the closest station. Favorites seem to be limited to six. Not going to get into paperless ticketing since mta cant figure out how to implement at a reasonable cost.

Does what I need it to do

I commute every day to NYC and this app does everything I need it to do. Yes I would love to see an Apple Watch app, ability to favorite my usual trains to quickly get to the track number or have my monthly ticket in Passbook but the core apps works great for me.

Barely Worth the Download

Having the train times is great but how about being able to purchase tickets through the app? Come on.

Lousy

1. Horrible waste of screen real estate. I shouldnt have to scroll the home screen (even on a 4s). 2. The first thing I should see is From and To, departure / arrival time choice, and a calendar button if I want to change the date. Nothing else. 3. Confusing interface. 4. "Explore Grand Central" button is shameless commercial promotion.

Needs improvement

It doesnt work without wifi, so its difficult to plan while in the subway on the way to grand central. You have to do it once you get upstairs and at that point, you might as well check one of the screens.

Its not displaying stations

Good app, if it worked. Currently showing no stations....
